Suppsonic brings AI to the intermediary

With AI assistants available right inside SUPP, we support the intermediary in customer contact and in the work around it. That way firms excel at their service while doing less of the manual work themselves.

The Challenge: Plenty of Repetitive Manual Work Across Plenty of Different Systems

Suppsonic offers SUPP to insurance intermediaries and financial advisors. In SUPP, affiliated firms manage their customers, policies, changes and everything else that matters. "At Suppsonic we are constantly working to help advisors work smarter and more efficiently," says Joris Martens, director of Suppsonic. That comes with one hard condition. "New technology has to make the work simpler, not add yet another system or screen."

The team saw the potential of AI early on. The difficulty was mostly about form. "The challenge was above all to make AI a practical part of an intermediary's daily work," Joris explains. "Not as a standalone AI tool, but fully integrated into SUPP, using the information and processes that are already there."

The Solution: Practical AI Assistants for Everyday Work

"Together with DataSpeak we connected AI functionality directly to SUPP," Joris says. DataSpeak supplies the AI technology and expertise. Suppsonic brings the market knowledge of how an intermediary works, which tasks the work consists of and where it chafes in practice. And SUPP provides a strong foundation for feeding the assistants the right information, so they can carry out those tasks efficiently and accurately.

That has already produced several concrete applications our customers make smart use of. There are AI assistants that handle direct customer contact, so questions can be asked, changes submitted and matters such as claims reported outside office hours too. Following up with the customer right away while taking work off the advisor's plate is a big win for both sides.

Integrated assistants also help take over repetitive groundwork. They analyse the available information and produce a factual report the advisor can base a recommendation on. That shifts the advisor's work. It no longer starts with gathering and comparing, but with judging the facts. People stay in control. We make sure the advisor can decide for themselves, on the basis of factual data, which advice or action fits the customer. Because every customer is different, and nobody knows what matters to a customer better than their advisor. "The most important thing here is that these are not separate solutions next to SUPP," Joris emphasises. "The functionality is integrated into the advisor's existing environment and processes." The assistants are available where the advisor already works, as a button or an automatic trigger.

The Collaboration: Quickly From a Good Idea to a Valuable Product

"Working with DataSpeak is a real pleasure, mainly because we both like to move quickly from a good idea to something that works," Joris says. "The lines are short, and when we come up with a new application together we can switch quickly between what is technically possible and what genuinely adds value for an intermediary."

That speed comes from how the roles are split. DataSpeak brings AI expertise, Suppsonic knows the daily practice, processes and systems of the intermediary. "It is exactly that combination that works so well. We don't have to spend months explaining to each other what we want to achieve. We can build, test and improve quickly." And the firms affiliated with Suppsonic are not on the sidelines. They take an active part in development. They bring in the situations they run into day to day, try out new functionality and say what does and does not work. DataSpeak works closely with Suppsonic's customers to carry that valuable feedback into the development and improvement of the modules. That involvement is the difference between a module that is right on paper and one an office wants to work with every day.

The Results: High-Quality Assistants That Make the Difference

The most important result is that AI is no longer a separate experiment but a genuine part of an advisor's daily work. Customers can be helped outside office hours too, while the next morning the advisor finds the right information, task or process waiting in SUPP. At the same time the assistants save time, because large amounts of information are analysed quickly and presented clearly. On the administrative side we also see a marked improvement in how policies and the actions around them are documented.

According to Joris, the biggest gain is not in the minutes an assistant saves per task. "It is mainly about an advisor being able to serve more customers even better with the same people, run processes more consistently, and at the same time keep offering personal contact where it is genuinely needed." That last part is no side issue. "We hold personal contact in high regard, because we believe a customer is with an intermediary for a reason."

Conclusion

Together with DataSpeak we are aiming for a new way of working for the intermediary: excelling as an advisor while having to do less of the work yourself. That is the thread running through the collaboration between Suppsonic and DataSpeak. Customer questions get picked up outside office hours too, the assistants take on the groundwork, and the advice stays with the advisor who knows the customer best.

That is how we see AI at the intermediary. Not as a replacement for the advisor, but as technology that helps the advisor work faster and with more enjoyment, and lets them make the difference with their knowledge and personal attention on the basis of detailed facts.
